Discover the distinctive spirit of Michoacán in every pour of Don Mateo Mezcal Pechuga. This mezcal stands apart, drawing from maguey Cenizo or Cupreata—agaves that set it distinctly from the Espadín-driven exports dominating shelves elsewhere. What elevates it further is the time-honored touch during that pivotal third distillation, where Emilio Vieyra’s mother weaves in her cherished recipe. She incorporates chicken breast alongside deer meat and carefully chosen spices, infusing the liquid with an uncommon depth and body that lingers invitingly.

Raise a glass, and the aromas unfold like a Michoacán hillside at dusk: charred agave sweetness mingles with ripe tropical fruits, bright citrus bursts, grounded earthiness, and a whisper of spice. It’s an invitation to explore layers that shift and reveal themselves with each breath. On the tongue, expect a satisfying heft—silky texture that coats luxuriously, carrying that enriched profile through to a finish that echoes without haste.

Batch to batch, this pechuga mezcal keeps a sense of adventure alive; while chicken often stars, other meats might join the mix, ensuring no two bottles mirror exactly. At 45% ABV in a 750 ml bottle, it commands attention whether savored solo in quiet reflection or shared among friends chasing bold flavors. Hailing from Mexico’s heartland, Don Mateo Pechuga captures a raw, familial essence rarely found in standard mezcals.

Picture settling into your evening with this 144.99 gem. It’s more than a pour—it’s a bridge to tradition, where every sip tells of hands that blend wild lands with personal ritual.
